In the early summer of 1990, a small collective of designers and artists began to gather in an unused pathological laboratory near New Delhi’s historic Connaught Place, with the aim of working in an atmosphere free of pre-determined notions of design, art, crafts and the market. From those beginnings, People Tree has grown, over 30 years, into a successful and independent business led by a vision of originality, sustainability, collaboration and creativity.
