The Ficus tree is considered sacred in India. Symbolising spirituality, enlightenment and community gathering. These types of trees are considered ecological linchpins not only for their strength, resilience and long life but also for their ability to act as a nurturing space for insects, birds, squirrels, monkeys, etc. It is deservedly depicted as 'The Tree of Life' in Asian art and culture.
No two pieces are exactly alike, as each one is individually hand-produced with skill and care. The colour variations and 'irregularities' within each piece are typical of the hand-processes used.
